Rakan has gained experience in a variety of film media including video installations (Citizen’s Anxiety 2017), narrative shorts (Madman 2016), music videos (My Love is Not a Currency 2016) documentaries (Iffley Open House 2017, Mish Wa2ta 2018) and commercial work. More recently, Rakan was cinematographer for Blackwater Fever (2018), Kung Fu (2017) which premiered in the Fighting Spirit film festival, Yellow Grass (2017) and the Guinea Pig Doctor (2017). Apart from cinematography, Rakan is always keen to gain experience as a Director- Hands Up (2017), Trace of Light (2017) including making promotional films which included editing, set design amongst the other roles for Empower Her Voice (2016), Compass News (2017), Keble College (2016/17) and 5 theatre trailers for In the Republic of Happiness (2016). Rakan has gained more professional experience working for Forward Film Production in Lebanon where he acted as a video journalist, editor and researcher which provided him with a more rounded appreciation of the film making process. His interest in the diverse potential and power of film has made for a continued enthusiasm in new projects.
